So ... Who does what? ...

 

     PRESIDENT - Gwyn Thomas     

This role is normally given to a person who has significant history with the Club.

Responsibilities include representing the Club at key events, supporting the committee, offering advice when required and also attending committee meetings when requested.
An additional duty is to arrange the cleaning of rugby shirts.

     CHAIRMAN - John Morison     

The Chairman has the overall responsibility for the running of club affairs.

Key responsibilities are to represent the Club at official events; to ensure that the Club is functioning correctly and that Club members are fulfilling their obligations.  The Chairman will be required to hold the casting vote in matters of resolution where the vote is tied; act as an arbitrator in disciplinary matters and attend committee meetings and disciplinary hearings.

     VICE CHAIRMAN - Mark Tucker     

The role is to stand in for the Chairman when he is not available and to co-ordinate the duties of the committee to achieve the Club's goal.

The Vice Chairman has to ensure that key functions and responsibilities of the Club are being maintained (insurances, licences, kit stock, bar provisions, heating, lighting etc), and will also be required to attend committee meetings and disciplinary hearings.

An additional duty is to publish the locking up rota.

     SECRETARY - Richard Rees     

Involves being the Club's formal representative and spokesperson with all Rugby Football Unions, Referees' Societies, Disciplinary Committees, Councils and Governing Bodies on Club related business.

The Secretary will be required to represent the Club at operational events, to arrange committee meetings and disciplinary hearings.  The position is also responsible for keeping the Club updated on information from official bodies; compiling and circulating minutes from meetings and special communications as required and attending committee meetings and disciplinary hearings.
Additional duty is to collect membership fees.

     TREASURER - Mark Tucker     

This person will be required to protect the longevity of the Club by accounting for its financial position and ensuring solvency.

Responsibilities include making sure that mandatory bills are paid in a timely fashion, that legal enforcements are avoided through financial issues and to track and report the revenue status of the Club.

     FIXTURES SECRETARY - Jim Kingsley-Smith     

This person will be responsible for organizing the season's fixtures to meet the Club requirements, matching the fixtures against known RFU structured dates, and balancing home and away games throughout the season.

He will advise the referees society of the home team games for refereeing appointments, and will confirm the referee for each home game, communicating any potential problems in good time.

He will manage and maintain an accurate contact list of clubs, with names and telephone numbers of contacts.

He will manage the fixtures through the season to ensure that all fixture changes are properly communicated.

     SKILLS COACH - Jamie Young     

The Skills Coach will be responsible for imparting his knowledge and appreciation of tactical skills and awareness. He will also oversee any one-to-one coaching to be carried out by approved club coaches.

As a core member of the Selection Committee, the opinion and preferences of the skills coach are central in selecting the appropriate match day team line up.

     FITNESS COACH - Sion Bowen     

The Fitness Coach will be responsible for fitness training sessions.

As a core member of the Selection Committee, the opinion and preferences of the fitness coach are central in selecting the appropriate match day team line up.

     CLUB CAPTAIN - Steve James     

Is required to be the key representative of the Club prior to, during and after each 1st team match.

The captain will form an integral part of the Selection Committee and ensure that all players actions are appropriate and in line with the Club ethos.
The captain will also have to ensure that all weekly subs are collected and forwarded to the treasurer.
The pre-match non playing duties (post protectors, flags, balls ready, first aid kit available) and post match non playing duties (post protectors, flags, balls back, kit collected, changing rooms and showers swept bar manned for first hour) are the responsibility of the captain.
Attendance will also be required at Committee Meetings and disciplinary hearings.

     VICE CAPTAIN - Damian Keogh     

Is required to stand in for the captain when he is absent, incapacitated or when he has other duties to complete. The vice captain will assume all of the captain's duties and carry them through to completion.

     WEBMASTER / PHOTOGRAPHER - Phillip Edgar     

Is required to maintain and update the Cov Tech website with regard to all relevant current affairs, information and images. Fixture information and Results to be brought up to date in a timely manner. Photographs of matches, profiles and key events to be shot when practicable, and all images to be edited and uploaded to the website as soon as possible.

Responsible for Cov Tech desktop publishing IE posters, cards, leaflets, flyers etc

     HONORARY MEMBER - John Timms     

An Honorary Member shall be a Member with all the rights duties and privileges of membership of the Club but without any obligation to pay any entrance fees or subscription.
